About The Position

Dotdash Meredith is seeking a temp Production Accountant to support the Video department while our current accountant is away on parental leave. Looking for an experienced Production Accountant who can administer invoicing, budgeting, forecasting, accounts payable, payroll, and monthly close reconciliation process. This position will report to the Executive Director, Video Operations & Finance.

Requirements

  • 5 years prior experience of production accounting and/or production finance experience required
  • BA in accounting/finance preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Highly skilled in Microsoft Excel)
  • Experience with third party payroll company; Greenslate preferred
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally
  • Organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently; flexible team player and adaptable
  • Prior experience with Oracle preferred

Responsibilities

  • Process and review biweekly digital production timecards across multiple projects and states with third party payroll company, Greenslate
  • Prepare and record journal entries (e.g. accruals, reclasses, allocations) for end of month close process within four business days to ensure timely and accurate reporting
  • Provide project and account coding for processing of all invoices, payroll and credit card statements
  • Work closely as a liaison between the Production Management team and corporation accounting with the Finance Business Manager
  • Process Accounts Payable for Dotdash Meredith Video department including but not limited to invoice submission, vendor setup, and rush payments
  • Prepare reports on actuals and variances; provide information, investigate cost discrepancies and perform analysis
  • Manage and review anticipated costs for budgeting and forecasting purposes
  • Troubleshooting inquiries including but not limited to production matters, payroll, production p-card transactions, T&E expenses, journal entries, invoice payment statuses, etc.
  • Review executed agreements ensuring internal contractual obligations are tracked and paid
  • Work on ad hoc projects on an as-needed basis
