Your Role: As a Validation Engineer 1, and a member of the R&D Validation & Applications Center (VAC) Engineering team, you will be responsible for testing new products and systems through all phases of the product development process.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, or other Engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of experience in a Science and Engineering setting

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with FMEA/risk analysis, product failure and root cause analysis
  • Basic statistical analysis skills using Minitab
  • Familiarity with test method development and validation, including GR&R
  • Familiarity with equipment design, calibration, troubleshooting and repair
  • Familiarity with Product Development Process (PDP)
  • Experience with MilliporeSigma filtration, chromatography, and Mobius products
  • Experience with change control methodology, DOE, and process capability
  • Experience supporting process and product/system validations and capital upgrades
  • Ability and prior experience working in a lab completing physical lab procedures/operations

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineers to develop new test equipment and experimental test procedures
  • Lead the development of new test methods and qualification of testing equipment
  • Perform product and system testing (primarily filtration products/systems) by following written protocols and procedures
  • Operate and understand analytical instruments such as TOC analyzers and particle counters during testing
  • Accurately record data and make detailed observations during laboratory tests
  • Support test equipment and measurement systems used to validate new products, including: Troubleshooting and failure investigation Repairs and preventative maintenance Identifying and implementing new or upgraded technology Supporting calibration activities for lab equipment
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop new test equipment and experimental test procedures
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including Facilities, Engineering Services, Finance, EHS, Plant Operations, R&D, Quality, and Product Management
  • Provide laboratory support for product/process change requests, raw material qualifications, and customer application testing
  • Complies with all applicable regulations and EHS guidelines for chemical storage, working with hazardous chemicals, and general lab safety
  • Travel occasionally to manufacturing facilities (minimal travel required)
