About The Position

We are looking for a talented Product Systems Design Engineer to join our team specializing in Engineering for Cummins, Inc. in Henderson, CO. In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways: Investigate and Resolve Design Issues: Analyze VPI program or field-based problems, identify root causes, recommend actions, and own resolution from a design perspective while documenting outcomes. Apply Design Processes and Tools: Execute processes like Critical Design Decisions, Design Reviews, and use tools such as iDFMEA, DVA, GD&T, CREO, and ANSYS Workbench to ensure high-quality design decisions. Collaborate Across Functions: Gather input and negotiate with cross-functional experts and senior designers to communicate design intent through comprehensive Design Review packages. Support Concept and Specification Decisions: Contribute to decisions on concept selection, optimization, and design specifications for PPT, VPI, or VPCR initiatives impacting customer requirements. Own Problem Resolution: Take responsibility for resolving issues in components, systems, or subsystems with increasing technical complexity as experience grows. Execute Established Processes: Perform work using established systems and processes while developing product knowledge and contributing to process improvements. Coordinate Work: May involve directing tasks among technicians or temporary employees, though minimal direct people management is required. Contribute to Team Goals and Competency Development: Work effectively within teams, influence group outcomes, and continuously develop skills critical for success in the role.
