About The Position

The Product Support Specialist I role at Ingersoll Rand involves providing global technical support for various industrial products, including diaphragm pumps, piston pumps, and pneumatic systems. The specialist will assist customers with troubleshooting, maintenance, and application assistance, while also collaborating with internal teams to enhance product quality and serviceability. This hybrid position requires effective communication and problem-solving skills to ensure customer satisfaction and support product development initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a Technical/Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in technical customer service or application engineering.
  • Understanding of pneumatic and electrical/electronic components and applications.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and written instructions.
  • Ingersoll Rand service certifications for Piston Pump, Diaphragm Pump, and Fluid Power preferred.
  • Knowledge of PLC, IoT, SCADA preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive technical support for products, including troubleshooting and maintenance guidance.
  • Assist with product-related inquiries and collaborate with Marketing, Sales, and Product Management teams.
  • Participate in new product development focusing on serviceability, quality, and reliability.
  • Conduct product demonstrations, installations, and training sessions for stakeholders.
  • Make informed service decisions and assist with troubleshooting for electronic controllers and pump technologies.
  • Provide safety advice and support for product commissioning and startup.
  • Handle post-order customer support tasks with urgency, including marketing rebates and sales disputes.
  • Utilize internal communication tools to manage customer interactions and drive satisfaction.
  • Develop strong relationships with key accounts and manage multiple concerns to resolution.
  • Perform additional duties as required, including handling phone calls and processing replacement orders.
