About The Position

The Product Support Specialist will be responsible for daily application operations and maintenance on RedHat Linux environments for a Japanese Financial Institution. This role requires effective communication between Application and Infrastructure teams, responding to incidents, and supporting system enhancements. The position is remote, requiring work in the Eastern Time Zone, and is a long-term, full-time employment opportunity.

Requirements

  • Business proficiency in Japanese and English
  • Basic database experience with Oracle or MSSQL Server

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders across departments
  • Basic command-line skills in Linux (not necessary to be an advanced user)
  • Experience in application deployment or understanding of application-infrastructure integration
  • Project management experience (PMP certification is a plus)
  • Financial industry experience is nice to have, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily application operations and maintenance on RedHat Linux environments
  • Serve as a bridge between Application and Infrastructure teams
  • Respond to incidents involving both infrastructure and applications; identify root cause and coordinate resolution with relevant teams
  • Support system enhancements and updates as needed
  • Escalate appropriately while ensuring smooth communication among stakeholders
  • Handle minor project management tasks (e.g., WBS creation, small process improvement initiatives)
  • Operate in an enterprise IT environment with a focus on reliability and service continuity
  • Utilize basic database experience with Oracle or MSSQL Server
