Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated Manufacturing Engineer to support the development, prototyping, industrialization, documentation, and release of custom tools and fixtures used in servicing our AutoPulse NXT medical device. This role is critical to enabling the expansion of our worldwide technical service centers and ensuring consistent levels of quality and efficiency in service operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with a variety of mechanical and electrical equipment used to support manufacturing within a regulated, medical device environment. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Global Service, R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and the Production teams to help finalize development and replicate key tools required for service centers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in manufacturing engineering, tooling design, or product support-preferably in a medical device or other regulated industry.
  • Good knowledge of CAD software (SolidWorks preferred) and mechanical design principles.
  • Experience with computer interfaces, PC boards, enclosures, test software and mechanical devices.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing process development, validation (IQ/OQ/PQ), and documentation in a quality-controlled environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, technical environment under tight delivery timelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Design of Experiments (DOE) and product/process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Solid Works experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the San Jose AutoPulse NXT service team to identify service equipment needs, implement design improvements, and optimize service equipment workflows.
  • Review, prototype, update, and validate custom tools, test equipment, and fixtures required to support AutoPulse NXT service and repair operations.
  • Develop engineering documentation required for release, including assembly instructions, drawings, BOMs and validation reports.
  • Drive industrialization and release of service tools into the Document Control System, ensuring readiness for global deployment.
  • Collaborate closely with R&D and production engineering to translate existing tool and fixture designs into scalable equipment that can be easily procured or assembled.
  • Support the qualification, verification, and validation of service tools in accordance with regulatory and quality system requirements (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA).
  • Contribute to process improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and global service readiness.
  • Work with external suppliers, procurement and internal manufacturing resources to ensure timely and high-quality equipment.
