The Data Analyst will function as the reporting and analytical associate for Empire’s assigned operational team. This position will be Directly responsible for collecting, organizing, and analyzing large sets of information in support of the organization's business objectives. The data analyst plays a crucial role in coordination of data from multiple sources, verification of the integrity of the data, and providing data to help inform and guide business decisions. The data analyst will have a basic understanding of Caterpillar and Empire’s business data systems, utilize data extraction resources, basic query skills, and assist with development of user views.

  • Research, extract, verify, and produce data relating to Empire’s assigned operational team and external clients.
  • Maintain dashboards, and reports for assigned operational team, which can include validating data accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist in the Development and maintain analysis tools and dashboards for use by the operational team.
  • Provide support for basic Ad-hoc data requests from various departments.
  • Use statistical techniques to analyze data and identify trends and patterns.
  • Create visual representations of data to support presentations and reports.
  • Cooperate with personnel in other work centers to build high levels of cross-departmental teamwork and support.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards. Work safely at all times and adhere to all applicable safety policies.
  • Achieve a high level of client satisfaction.
  • Provide basic technical support as needed to assigned personnel and support resources.
  • Train users and ensure data entry and processes are operationally consistent for reliable data retrieval.
  • Perform other related duties as may be required.

  • Experience with data analysis tools and techniques, such as SQL and Excel
  • Interest in SQL, Data Visualization (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and statistical analysis.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Must have general business acumen that provides the ability to analyze and solve complex business issues.
  • Must have or be able to gain an understanding of Empire’s various business systems and how to extract data and information.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to multi-task effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Must be a self-motivated, self-starter, work well in groups and demonstrate excellent client service.
  • Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
  • Degree in Business Data Analytics, Engineering, Economics, or Mathematics preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in Empire business systems preferred.
  • Intermediate user of MS Office Suite.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
  • Experience in Caterpillar and/or Dealer Parts Operations is a plus.
