The Product Stewardship Specialist works with multiple functions to ensure understanding of the regulatory environment by interpreting regulations, developing, and defining strategies for compliance. As a member of the US and Canada (USCA) Hazard Communication Team, you will be responsible for the successful management of all product stewardship related activities as they apply to the PPG sites. You will provide product stewardship support to customers while helping to drive the implementation of the regional Product Stewardship management system. You will report to the USCA Product Stewardship Hazard Communication Manager.

  • Maintains and improves the Product Stewardship Management System through program design, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Influences, stays current, and manages the regulatory changes assisting both internal and external customers with the implementation/inventory management of such changes.
  • Identifies and drives change within the Product Stewardship group as well as adjacent functions as needed with a focus on process development/enhancements.
  • Communicates and influences at all levels of business leaders and beyond to effectively integrate programs, implement technically sound yet cost-effective solutions, and achieve compliance.
  • Effectively shares information and provides product stewardship direction to a wide variety of PPG functions including technical, marketing, IT, legal, manufacturing, product management, and purchasing.
  • Responds to customer requests, both internal and external, with a customer-centric sense of urgency.
  • Develops and provides product stewardship training and expertise for all applicable personnel.
  • Evaluates the sustainability of processes/solutions, looking beyond current needs.
  • Conceptualizes issues at multiple levels, beyond cause/effect, and identifies possible unintended consequences; Develops and presents innovative ideas to senior Product Stewardship (PS) levels for buy-in.
  • Bachelor's degree in EHS field, chemistry, engineering, or related science.
  • 3 or more years of relevant experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements both for respective region and international destinations.
  • Familiarity with key business metrics, key drivers, business vision, and manufacturing processes/challenges as applicable to drive and align EHS objectives.
