Job Description: Responsibilities include monitoring the performance of a domestic discretionary or non-discretionary, advisory product, which may include managing a product within the brokerage or institutional offering. Responsibilities include working with more senior Product Specialists in developing product plans, strategies and enhancements, and performing data collection and coordination activities. We are seeking an individual to join our Education Savings Team, supporting the 529 product offered through Merrill and Consumer Investments. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with product knowledge and enjoys working cross-functionally to deliver results.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in financial services
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects and collaborate across cross-functional teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and effectively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with internal and external partners
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills; adept at data mining, reporting, and developing business cases
  • Proven ability to lead strategic initiatives and manage multiple projects across diverse internal teams and external vendors

  • Experience with financial products (e.g., 529 plans) and working with Financial Advisors

Responsibilities

  • This individual will be responsible for overseeing a number of platform oversight and governance routines supporting the 529 product while supporting key initiatives in executing business strategy with an approach that models our company’s emphasis towards responsible growth.
  • This individual will also manage a number of the Educations Savings Team’s key relationships with 529 Program Managers whose 529 Plans are available through our Merrill Financial Advisors and Financial Solution Advisors.
  • Manages a number of team procedures and controls tied to the Education Savings Team’s SPI, ensuring timely completion and adherence to standards
  • Demonstrates the ability to take ownership of select team projects, managing them from initiation to completion as needed to support team priorities
  • Develops and sustains strong partnerships with Program Managers of State 529 plans offered at Merrill, ensuring proactive engagement and collaboration to drive program success
  • Serves as a trusted resource to one of the 529 Product Team’s key, institutional client relationships by offering timely, quality support
  • Proactively identifies, escalates and resolves 529-related issues that can arise, ensuring timely closure and alignment with compliance and governance partners
  • Reviews and resolves 529-related inquiries that originate from the sales desk and financial advisors promptly, ensuring timely and accurate responses
  • Presents themselves and the Firm in a highly professional and consultative manner with prior client or advisor facing experience
  • Demonstrates client centric strategic thinking and innovation for delivering best in class solutions
