About The Position

The Product Strategist serves as the critical link between the investment and distribution teams, representing the full suite of fixed-income capabilities with a specialization in originated CLOs and bank loan portfolios to current and prospective clients, internal partners, and marketing teams. Acting as an extension of the portfolio management team, this role requires a deep ability to understand and articulate portfolio positioning, performance attribution, risk attributes, investment structures, and the team's market views, conveying this information effectively to a broad audience including clients, placement agents, distribution professionals, and home office research teams. The strategist functions as a subject matter expert for loan strategies and originated CLOs, providing product commentary, responding to ad-hoc client inquiries, and participating directly in client-facing conversations. This role is based in our Stamford, CT office, full-time.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field
  • 7+ years of experience in product strategy, product management, investment management, CLO structuring, or a client-facing role within asset management or financial services
  • Strong knowledge of fixed income markets, including leveraged loans, CLOs, and structured credit
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate portfolio positioning, performance attribution, and risk analytics to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience supporting or collaborating with distribution/sales teams in an institutional asset management environment
  • Proficiency in creating and contributing to client-facing materials, including pitch books, RFPs, DDQs, market and investment commentaries, and thought leadership content
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex investment concepts into clear, compelling narratives
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliverables across global teams simultaneously
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and familiarity with data/reporting tools

Nice To Haves

  • Masters, MBA, or CFA designation (completed or in progress)
  • Direct experience with CLO structuring, origination, or primary/secondary CLO markets
  • Existing relationships or deep familiarity with institutional investor types such as insurance companies, pension plans, endowments, foundations, family offices, and consultant/gatekeeper networks
  • Experience developing product roadmaps and frameworks that incorporate competitive intelligence, regulatory trends, and capital flow analysis across institutional and retail segments

Responsibilities

  • Serve as liaison between distribution and investment teams to represent full suite of investment capabilities to current and prospective clients and internal partners, including marketing teams for client decks, RFPs and Due Diligence Questionnaires, with specialization on originated CLOs and bank loan portfolios
  • Explain Guggenheim Investment’s portfolio positioning, performance attribution, risk attributes, investment structures and views of the team and convey this information effectively to clients, placement agents, distribution, and home office research teams
  • Responsible for maintaining a deep understanding of the evolving investment needs, product structures (i.e. jurisdictions, liquidity profiles, fees, vehicle types, etc.) and competitive landscape for both institutional and retail asset owners
  • Support senior product strategists globally on new and existing client opportunities
  • Partner with and support our distribution and client service teams to cultivate and support new business opportunities and to service our existing institutional client base
  • Position and prioritize product suite and collaborate with Head of Fixed Income Product Strategy, Head of Distribution, and Marketing team on campaigns including thought leadership content
  • Support senior product strategists in building frameworks to share deep understanding across the firm of CLO and bank loan market dynamics, regional client needs, competitive dynamics, regulatory trends, and money in motion, across institutional and retail segments which are then used in product design/roadmap
  • Act as a subject matter expert for loan strategies and originated CLOs, providing product commentary, performance attribution, responding to ad-hoc client requests, and participating in client conversations
  • Serve as a point of contact and client facing strategist to address questions on existing product and product development from the internal sales force, existing clients, and prospects.
  • Assist the distribution team on the engagement of existing clients for re-ups and cross marketing opportunities; Work with CLO Structuring to maintain database of investor accounts in deals and funds
  • Maintain a high level of communication with investment teams and regional distribution leaders
  • In-depth knowledge on a variety of clients including insurance companies, Family Offices, Endowments, Foundations, Pension Plans, Sub-Advisory, Consultants, home office research teams, gatekeepers, and financial advisors.
