About The Position

Product & Service Quality Manager (Fab TDRC) Company: The Boeing Company Tube and Duct Reservoir Center (TDRC) is seeking a Quality Manager, reporting to the Senior Quality Manager, to join the Quality Organization working out of Algona, Washington on 1st Shift. The First-Line Product & Services Quality Manager will be a reliable and competent professional who possesses the ability to work well across diverse groups and effectively collaborate across organizational boundaries. The ideal candidate will be a problem solver who relies heavily on data and analysis to drive decisions and a leader who can effectively implement solutions in an ever-evolving environment. Transformational leadership skills will be necessary to build team engagement and lead quality team members in executing lean principles to include standard work and the One Boeing Production System. The candidate will exhibit resilience and tenacity in implementing improvements in an established and regulated production and quality system. A manager in this role will develop cross-functional partnerships to achieve team and program goals while developing a work environment that promotes accountability, trust, teamwork, quality and safety. This role will lead a team of 10+ people onsite. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Algona, Washington facility.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a production-related discipline such as Manufacturing, Quality, Production Engineering, Supplier Management, and/or Supplier Quality
  • 3+ years of experience working with and supporting Quality Management System (QMS)
  • 3 + years of experience leading teams or projects formally or informally
  • Proficiency and experience working with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to work any shift based on the needs of the operation
  • This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the Algona, Washington facility.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of management experience with responsibility for direct reports
  • 3+ years of experience within the aerospace/ aviation industry
  • Experience in building strong relationships with partners, customers and suppliers in a cross-functional setting
  • Experience in evaluating, planning, analyzing, and developing quality tools, techniques and methods
  • Experience in dealing with personnel matters including recruitment, employee development and mentorship, performance evaluation and coaching
  • Well-developed oral and written communication skills, organizational, decision-making, analytical, strategic planning and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher
  • Experience in root cause analysis/systematic problem solving

Responsibilities

  • Manage employees who evaluate and ensure that products, services and processes comply with customer contract requirements, engineering requirements, company procedures and government regulations
  • Develops and executes business plans, policies and procedures and develops organizational and technical strategies to improve performance
  • Provides education and coaching on the Quality System
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, suppliers and direct reports
  • Responsible for supporting divisional targets including developing programs that promote continuous improvements of productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction
  • Engages and empowers employees to make process improvements
  • Proactively communicates with employees, peers (e.g., fellow first-level managers) and customers
  • Communicates policies and directives to enhance employee awareness of expectations
