About The Position

We are seeking a motivated Summer Intern to help build and experiment with custom agents, large language models, and next-generation cloud technologies. This is a learning-first role—you’ll gain hands-on experience in AI development, cloud workflows, and security tradecraft while contributing to meaningful projects. This is a 12-week in-person program based in our Bay Area offices. While we have two locations- Sunnyvale and San Francisco, most events and programming will take place in San Francisco. You must be available to work during one of the following date ranges: May 18, 2026 - August 7, 2026 June 1, 2026-August 21, 2026 June 15, 2026- September 4, 2026

Requirements

  • Educational Background: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning or Related Field graduating by Fall 2026 or Spring 2027.
  • Programming: You are familiar with coding in a language such as Python, Rust, Go, etc., experience with PyTorch and TensorFlow is a plus
  • Foundational Knowledge: You're familiar with computer science fundamentals, including data structures and algorithm design as well as familiarity with the AI/ML stack.
  • Collaborative Mindset: You are a proactive communicator who enjoys working closely with a team to solve challenging problems.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: You have a curious and analytical mindset with a talent for troubleshooting and optimizing complex systems.
  • Familiarity with NLP data processing, transformer architectures, and fine-tuning
  • Curiosity about security, privacy, and threat modeling, building systems, experimenting, and safely “breaking” things to understand and secure them

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with virtualization (VMs), containerization (Docker), and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) is a plus!
  • Understanding of modular and workflow design; OOP and algorithms are a plus!
  • Knowledge of state and memory management for agents
  • Experience with LLM APIs (OpenAI, Hugging Face, etc.)
  • Basic familiarity with concurrency / async programming and data structures

Responsibilities

  • Assist in designing and implementing custom LLMs and fine-tuning models for specific tasks.
  • Build and experiment with agent libraries and workflow orchestration frameworks.
  • Explore neo-cloud technologies, containerized environments, and virtualized infrastructure.
  • Learn and apply security and privacy best practices in AI pipelines and deployments.
  • Collaborate with the team to document, test, and optimize agent behaviors and models.
  • Participate in knowledge sharing and mentorship sessions, gaining exposure to AI, cloud, and security tradecraft.
