About The Position

The Product Safety Specialist (Associate Technician Factory Quality) at Nestlé Purina is responsible for ensuring the safety and quality of pet food products by testing samples, auditing sanitation, and managing pest control measures. This role involves collaboration with various departments to uphold the company's commitment to quality and safety in its manufacturing processes.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2+ years of experience in quality or pest management in a food manufacturing or lab environment.
• Willingness to obtain Agricultural Commodity Fumigation and Industrial Pest Control certifications within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Test samples of finished products and communicate results to relevant departments.
• Identify and treat pest contamination including insects, birds, and rodents.
• Sample and test incoming ingredients through physical testing and environmental sampling.
• Audit sanitation throughout the factory to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Maintain a safe and sanitary work area and equipment.
• Comply with safety regulations including respiratory protection and protective clothing.
• Assist in heat treatment, warehouse fogging, and fumigation processes.
• Reorder and manage inventory of sanitation and pest control materials.
• Conduct pheromone monitoring and maintain accurate records.
• Obtain and maintain pesticide applicator certification.
• Conduct weed control on surrounding property and monitor mechanical traps and bait stations.
• Inspect incoming equipment and new installations for sanitary design compliance.
• Investigate sources of contaminants in the plant and products.
• Conduct Monthly GMP inspections and assist with general administration duties.
