About the position

Join our dynamic team as a Product Reliability Quality Technician! We are seeking a qualified candidate who is passionate about quality assurance and reliability in electronics manufacturing. In this role, you will play a crucial part in analyzing hardware returns to identify failure modes and collaborate across teams to enhance product quality.

Responsibilities

  • Assist testing process, procedures, and best practices for effective analysis of field return hardware components to identify failure modes
  • Documenting testing processes for new hardware and updating processes as new tests are designed.
  • Collaborate on Service Bulletins recommending troubleshooting steps and instructions for workarounds.
  • Train Factory Verification Lab on new test fixtures and processes.
  • Provide technical support to the Factory Verification Lab.
  • Investigate CDT&R issues related to factory processes.
  • Devise sampling procedures and directions for recording and reporting quality data
  • Evaluations include troubleshooting electronic PCBA to identify component failures, utilizing cell testing equipment to ensure proper functionality, and identifying assembly errors
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair test equipment
  • Participate in problem solving activities to support internal and customer concerns resolution and reduce warranty cost of poor quality.
  • Utilize Vontier Business System (VBS) tools to make process / yield improvements
  • Compile and evaluate statistical data to determine and maintain quality and reliability of products
  • Prepare reports, charts, and graphs to communicate outcomes of quality activities
  • Work with Quality, Manufacturing, and Design Engineering to conduct trials and tests
  • Assist Warranty Return Goods Cell with disposition and control of non-conforming product

Requirements

  • Technical associate degree in a technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience in electronics manufacturing and/or development
  • 2+ years of testing of electronic assemblies and sensors down to actual component failure
  • Familiarity with APQP and ISO Quality systems
  • General use of electrical and mechanical equipment such as Digital Multimeters, electronic/mechanical gauges and power supplies
  • Overall knowledge of soldering components to printed circuit board assemblies
  • Must be able to interpret engineering drawings, schematics and specifications
  • Self-driven, highly motivated
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of production practices and test procedures.
