About The Position

The Product & Reinsurance Analyst is a hybrid, cross-functional role that supports both insurance product development and reinsurance/risk management activities. This position will work closely with Product, Risk & Reinsurance, Actuarial, and Finance teams to support product performance, regulatory filings, data analysis, and reinsurance treaty administration and analytics. Product-related responsibilities represent the primary, ongoing focus of the role, while reinsurance-related activities are more seasonal in nature and aligned with placement, renewal, and reporting cycles. The ideal candidate is analytically strong, detail-oriented, and interested in gaining exposure across the full insurance value chain – from product design and pricing to reinsurance placement and capital management.

Requirements

  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; ability to build clear, professional analyses and presentations.
  • Experience or exposure to SERFF filings, rate indications, or regulatory support is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with large datasets; familiarity with Access, SQL, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Foundational understanding of reinsurance structures (XOL, quota share, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience working with catastrophe modeling platform(s) is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, with coursework or concentration in Risk Management, Finance, Economics, Math, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in insurance product, analytics, underwriting support, reinsurance, actuarial, or financial analysis roles

  • CPCU, ARe, ARM, or progress toward a professional designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the creation, review, and maintenance of insurance forms, endorsements, and coverage language.
  • Prepare and support rate and form filings through SERFF, including required documentation and supporting analysis.
  • Develop rate, coverage, and feature comparisons versus key competitors across multiple states.
  • Research and monitor state-specific regulatory requirements impacting product design, pricing, and reporting.
  • Review key product performance metrics such as claim frequency, loss ratios, renewal retention, and segment profitability.
  • Identify and support product enhancements to improve competitiveness and long-term profitability
  • Support ceded and assumed reinsurance programs by preparing treaty summaries, participation schedules, exposure exhibits, and capital impact analyses.
  • Assist with reinsurance placement and renewal processes by preparing data submissions, pro formas, and marketing materials for brokers and reinsurers.
  • Collect, validate, and analyze exposure, premium, and loss data used for reinsurance reporting and catastrophe modeling.
  • Support the preparation of bordereaux, reconciliations, recoverable analyses, and internal reinsurance reporting.
  • Streamline the review, interpretation, and communication of catastrophe model outputs from RMS, Verisk, or similar platforms, including translating results into clear insights for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepare exposure data and, as needed, support the execution of in-house catastrophe model runs on the RMS platform.
  • Maintain reinsurance documentation, including contracts, addenda, and collateral / trust support materials.
  • Liaise with reinsurance brokers, reinsurers, regulators, rating agencies, and internal stakeholders to support placements, renewals, reconciliations, and compliance processes
