About The Position

The Gogo Business Aviation Product Quality Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of products and processes within the manufacturing environment. This position involves managing the Material Review Board (MRB), supporting quality engineers in identifying and resolving quality issues, conducting inspections of incoming and production products, and performing internal audits. The technician is integral to maintaining customer satisfaction and enhancing the company's profitability through effective quality management.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • IPC 610 and/or 620 certification
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs
  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Previous visual and mechanical inspection experience
  • Ability to use basic hand measurement tools (calipers, pin and height gauges)
  • Effective teamwork, interpersonal, and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certified Quality Inspector (CQI) certification
  • Familiarity with Agile PLM and UniPoint for data documentation
  • Experience in a company with a certified ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 Quality Management System
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Proficient computer skills with office software applications

Responsibilities

  • Manage product and processes within the MRB cage including quality checks on product moving in/out of the MRB cage
  • Oversee the disposition matrix and associated Unipoint functions for non-conforming product
  • Work with quality engineers to identify issues, perform containment, root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
  • Perform accurate visual, dimensional, mechanical, and functional inspections of materials per inspection plans and specifications
  • Initiate material non-conformance reports as required
  • Review in-process and final production materials to confirm specifications and document results
  • Ensure product conformity to drawings, specifications, regulatory, and quality standards
  • Participate in ISO 9001/AS9100, FAA, Customer, and Internal audits as required
