About The Position

The Product Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring product integrity and performing quality-related repairs for items handled within the facility. This position is equally focused on product quality inspection/analysis and product repair/rework. The Product Quality Technician will evaluate product issues, perform recall and rework activities, and ensure all repairs meet the customer's and company's quality standards. Working independently under the direction of the Site Leadership Team-and in partnership with the Customer's Quality Team-the Technician will help identify root causes, correct defects, and maintain high product standards throughout the operation. This role requires proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, safe operation of power tools, and strong computer skills to communicate findings, document results, and order replacement parts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in product quality inspection, repair, or a related mechanical/electrical field.
  • Strong understanding of both quality control principles and repair techniques.
  • Skilled in diagnosing and resolving complex electrical and mechanical issues.
  • Proficient in basic computer use (email, data entry, documentation, and parts ordering).
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining product quality standards.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs during daily activities.
  • Frequent use of hand and power tools.
  • Must wear required PPE and follow all safety procedures.
  • Fast-paced warehouse or production environment.
  • Frequent collaboration with Site Leadership, Quality, and Operations teams.
  • May require extended periods of standing and exposure to warehouse conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed product inspections to identify defects, damage, or quality deviations.
  • Evaluate products involved in recalls or customer complaints and document findings.
  • Audit incoming and outgoing products for compliance with customer specifications.
  • Record and report quality data using established systems and tools.
  • Collaborate with the Customer's Quality Team to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation for non-conforming product and assist in root-cause analysis.
  • Audit and report on all Non-Finished Goods Inventory buckets.
  • Support continuous improvement and quality assurance initiatives within the facility.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical product issues as needed.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and rework activities on damaged or defective products.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely to complete product repairs.
  • Replace major system components, including circuit boards, electrical parts, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Communicate repair lists and needs to the Manager in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with outside vendors when items cannot be repaired internally.
  • Manage inventory levels for corrugate packaging operations and As-Is inventory.
  • Build load configurations and support onsite loading of As-Is Sales.
  • Account for all parts, tools, materials, and consumables used during repair activities.
