About the position

This position is responsible for managing service and QA activities on locally modified construction equipment designed to work in niche markets such as sanitary landfill, woodchip, and demolition.

Responsibilities

  • Lead JUHIN meetings and manage resolutions to quality issues.
  • Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis activities.
  • Manage field testing of countermeasures; includes procuring parts, coordinating installation, and onsite field follow-up.
  • Review and approve warranty claims for assigned Komatsu models.
  • Review and approve various types of Parts and Service News (PSN).
  • Manage and release Factory Campaign (FC) related documents to the FC Coordinator within Service department.
  • Act as primary liaison between marketing engineering and dealers/KNA field service on service and quality issues.
  • Collaborate with parts department to set up service parts to support local machine modifications.
  • Support marketing engineering functions: Evaluate the use of third-party attachments on Komatsu equipment, respond to Technical Information Requests (TIR), and provide technical and engineering support to both internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline.
  • Familiar with the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
  • Has a basic understanding of machine components, such as but not limited to: Powertrain, Engine, Hydraulics, and Electrical systems.
  • 10-20% travel.
  • Product Quality and Service Engineer, Sr Product Quality and Service Engineer or Lead Product Quality and Service Engineer levels based on individual's experience, education level and qualifications.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with Creo and Creoview.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills working across multiple systems.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) skills and the aptitude to learn other software programs as required such as PowerBI needed to make ad hoc reports.
  • SAP skills are helpful but not required.
  • Strong presentation and technical communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization.
