About The Position

The Product & Pricing Analyst for Value Added Beef will be responsible for driving revenue improvement, enhancing market share, and fostering product growth for Beef Value Added products. The candidate will manage pricing for value-added products efficiently and assist in the product roadmap by collaborating with various departments to meet deadlines and achieve margin expectations. A strong understanding of yields and breakeven costs is essential. This role requires excellent analytical, communication, leadership, and program management skills to translate into successful sales and margin results. Clear and constant communication with sales and scheduling teams is crucial for the overall growth of programs and revenue enhancement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in the beef industry required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Animal Science, Business, Supply Chain or related field preferred.
  • Ability to navigate relationships with sales, pricing, scheduling, production, and business analysis departments, as well as key customers.
  • Strong data analysis skills with attention to detail and accuracy required.
  • Strong communication and sales planning skills required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, QlikView experience preferred.
  • Experience in JBS Systems (i.e. Quintiq, ECS, Shopfloor, SAP, etc.) preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 15% to Value Added facilities across the country.

Responsibilities

  • Value Added Pricing: Pricing of all value-added business, ensuring financial and budgetary goals are met.
  • Understand yields and meat breakeven.
  • Analyze competitive data and understand customer margin expectations to maximize value added margins opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain pricing files.
  • Work with core pricing teams to project forward raw material costs.
  • Manage transfer pricing rules and monitor raw material cost of goods.
  • Commercial Support: Handle sample requests, first order checklists, and pre-shipment inspections.
  • Assist sales and marketing in developing sales and marketing strategies.
  • Provide expertise and assistance to sales and marketing teams on programs for all sales channels and customers.
  • Contribute to planning, organizing, and coordinating programs to achieve financial and budgetary goals.
  • Assist in plant tours.
  • Act as a liaison between sales, scheduling, and operations.
  • Communicate product updates and progress to sales and executive teams.
  • Product Mix Management: Utilize yield and production data to identify business opportunities.
  • Analyze customer needs, identify market opportunities, and translate insights into actionable product shifts.
  • Plan for mix shifts and support scheduling and sales teams in fluid execution.
  • Set benchmarks and throughput goals.
  • Reporting: Develop and maintain appropriate reporting.
  • Monitor and analyze product performance; identify opportunities for improvement and growth.
