We are seeking an experienced Product Owner (PO) who will support the software solutions used in conjunction with the locks. As a self-motivated Product Owner, you will be responsible for understanding current ASSA ABLOY software solutions, third party enterprise access control (EAC), and the evolving business requirements with Product Managers and OEM’s. As part of the SAFe agile framework, you will need to consolidate and rationalize the requirements from respective business owners. During PI planning events the Product Owner will advocate for the vision presented by the business owners and assist in team’s planning exercise. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape and re-imagine current software solutions and develop a full product platform that supports the locks being sold to the customers. This position will need to understand and provide working examples of competitor products along with new innovative technologies (like Matter, Thread and AI) allowing them to connect to third party systems like EAC systems. This position will be full-time onsite in Berlin, CT. Some domestic and international travel will be required.

Requirements

• 5+ years in a Product Owner position (or similar qualifications), with 2+ years’ experience in the software space
• Foundation in SAFe Agile and Scrum Agile
• An active and adaptive listener that can establish agendas for requirement gathering meetings
• Capable of working with resources in different countries and time zones
• Must work on-site and collaborate cross-functionally in Agile/Scrum settings

Nice To Haves

• Experience testing mobile applications, APIs, or Playwright-based web interfaces
• Familiarity with AI-assisted QA workflows or test case generation
• Exposure to IoT, connected hardware, or smartphone-integrated product
• Software development Tools & Environment Project Management : JIRA, Confluence, Miro, Azure Dev Ops
• Communication Tools : MS Teams, Slack, Word, Draw.io

Responsibilities

• Document the business owner(s) requirements with a SAFe agile mindset
• Understand current third-party systems talking to ASSA ABLOY software and work collaboratively with counterparts to understand their product roadmaps
• Create and evolve a software product roadmap that aligns with ASSA ABLOY business facing teams while creating strategic alliances with depended software companies
• Consolidate and rationalize the business owner(s) vision with other functional areas to drive PI planning and developer requirements
• Propose new solutions with technologies that are in the industry to expand and introduce the ASSA ABLOY tools to different echo systems to open new business opportunities
• Manage product owner SAFe ceremonies including backlog refinement, defining team objectives and being the customer advocate for the planning
• Accountable for metrics that measure the value of the proposed product roadmaps
• Run and facilitate ideation sessions with measurable KPIs to support collaboration efforts
• Complete impact analysis of current software based on feedback from Voice of Customer(s) (VoC) sessions
• The product owner will define the definition of done of requirements and maintain traceability of work to business owners
• This position will also be responsible for predicting when the proposed roadmap can be completed based on the velocity of the teams
