About The Position

About the role: The goTenna Product team is seeking a professional Product Owner to translate product vision and high-level product requirements into actionable work and releasable customer value. The ideal candidate will have a track record in managing and prioritizing backlogs across product and engineering needs in an Agile development environment, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and cross-team dependencies.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience working in Software Development as a professional product owner
  • Scrum PSPO or SAFe PMPO or similar Product Owner Certification
  • 4+ years of experience with Agile methodologies including use of Jira & Confluence
  • Experience with Web and Mobile products
  • Experience working with end-to-end solutions which span hardware, software, and backend components to deliver operational functionality
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and technical stakeholders to manage dependencies and drive execution in an Agile / Scrum environment
  • Experience conducting research as necessary to support product decisions, requirements, and execution planning
  • Professional Communication skills: project specifications, documentation, presentations, stakeholder updates, etc
  • ITAR: U.S. Citizen or Green Card Required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, software development or business focus
  • Working knowledge of software encryption and security framework (NIST and FIPS) best practices
  • Working knowledge of modern mobile and web application technologies such as Kotlin, Flutter, Dart, etc.
  • Experience with Linux or other embedded or device-based operating environments
  • Working knowledge of Embedded Edge Compute software architectures and components such as Containers / Podman and orchestration engines such as K3s, KubeEdge and Rancher/Edge or similar edge/embedded compute environments

Responsibilities

  • Work with Product Managers, Product Architects and Software Architects to translate product vision and articulate high level product requirements into feature definitions and actionable user stories.
  • Lead requirements definition, estimating, and execution planning with engineering teams while coordinating cross-functionally with other Product Owners and stakeholders as needed.
  • Work with Product Managers and Engineering teams to establish and manage project or team Jira boards and associated backlogs, including maintaining backlog hygiene.
  • Maintain clear written documentation in Jira, Confluence, and related tools so that requirements, decisions, and dependencies are captured and available to stakeholders.
  • Work with Product Management leads in assessing Business Value, priorities, tradeoffs, and execution timing for feature/functional requirements in addition to non-functional requirements while establishing clarity when requirements are ambiguous.
  • Partner with Software Engineering teams (e.g. Linux Development, Web Services, Mobile Applications and Firmware) and QA teams to develop and deliver requirements, work estimates, and groomed backlogs, while defining clear acceptance criteria.
  • Lead Agile ceremonies such as Sprint Planning and Backlog Grooming to ensure priorities, dependencies, and scope are clearly understood
  • Participate in weekly status and quarterly Agile planning exercises to align cross-team dependencies and resource management to ensure successful Value Delivery in accordance with the established release cadence and/or milestone requirements.
  • Collaborate with Technical Project Managers regarding Hardware Product Development Processes as they pertain to software / firmware functionality alignment with hardware systems, including system integration/interdependencies.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers and the Project Management Office (PMO) to report milestone status tracking for NRE-funded contract work, including dependencies, risks, and execution progress.
  • Coordinate the development of product documentation for internal teams (Engineering, Customer Experience, and Sales) and Customer-facing documentation such as user manuals or technical marketing assets such as supporting specifications and collateral language.
  • Assist Product Managers, Development Engineering, and QA to complete test plans, product testing, user acceptance testing, release readiness efforts, and go-to-market efforts for releases
  • Work directly with customers and/or internal customer-facing teams (Sales, Customer Experience, etc.) to gather insights to help refine requirements, priorities, and user experience.
