Product Owner
About The Position
Lexical Intelligence provides software and services related to processing large-scale biomedical information sources. Our Natural Language Processing (NLP) and analytics software is used by policy and decision makers to evaluate and prioritize current and emerging areas of research. We are looking for a Product Owner with experience in software development lifecycle management, agile methodologies, and biomedical data analytics. The Product Owner will have a firm understanding of portfolio analysis tools, user experience design, and stakeholder engagement. The Product Owner shall be able to work well within a team of scientists, software engineers, data scientists, and technical writers. The selected applicant will be subject to a pre-employment background and reference check.
Requirements
- 5+ years of product management experience in software development
- Bachelor's degree or other degree(s) in Computer Science, Information Systems, Bioinformatics or related fields
- Experience with agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban)
- Demonstrated ability to translate user needs into technical requirements
- Experience with portfolio analysis tools and biomedical data systems
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with federal agencies, particularly NIH
- Knowledge of bibliometrics, graph theory, or natural language processing
- Experience with tools such as Shortcut, Jira, or Confluence for tracking user stories
- Familiarity with UI/UX design principles and tools such as Miro
- Experience with cloud-based infrastructure (AWS GovCloud, STRIDES)
- Knowledge of biomedical research data sources and systems (IMPACII, PubMed, etc.)
- Experience with AI/ML integration into software applications
Responsibilities
- Ensuring compliance with organizational security and privacy policies
- Protecting sensitive data and systems
- Reporting security incidents
- Participating in required cybersecurity training
- Implementing best practices related to access control, data handling, and risk mitigation within the scope of assigned duties
