The purpose of the support services campus is to eliminate obstacles and provide support to help our entrepreneurs succeed. Support service employees assist entrepreneurs in achieving their dreams through finance, accounting, IT, and other back-office operations. Job Description Position Summary The Product Owner will be responsible for understanding the business priority and to speak on behalf of the business customer while working closely to perform multiple functions within the team. In this role, you will act as the liaison between the business units, technology teams, and support teams. Requires knowledge in software development and current information technologies/data analytics to enable business units. Competencies for Success Fully participate in software development process. Gather Requirements, define business process workflows, and create development user stories Closely partner with the Product Management, Development, Software Quality Assurance and other functions to deliver high quality software releases Facilitate backlog grooming sessions, business requirement workshops, and story writing sessions Ability to break large project feature request into epics and stories for software development Backlog management and release planning; develop realistic and achievable release plans and product roadmaps Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills with an ability to manage competing demands Motivated to work with the business, translate business requirements into formal requirements and work with business team to complete requirements acceptance. Ability to manage priorities from multiple stakeholders and balance those with product priorities Strong oral and written communication skills. Experience drafting release notes and communication plans is a plus Strong desire to learn new business processes, design and create new business workflows Proven ability to build and maintain strong positive relationships with business and application partners and team members. Ability to consume diverse and conflicting feedback from multiple customers and determine the approach for application development Ability to provide facilitation of large group workshops and present products with customers Create release and test plan with quality assurance teams to ensure software development gates are passed. Actively support production issues and ability to prioritize resolution Highly motivated professional: self-starter and results oriented

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Business or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered in lieu of degree
  • 5+ years in IT and/or software development industry
  • 3+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Business Analyst in managing large, highly complex software development projects
  • 3+ years of experience working with multiple teams on enterprise-level software development projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience drafting release notes and communication plans is a plus
