Job Summary: We are seeking a talented Product Owner to lead the development and management of technology solutions. The role will serve as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that product vision aligns with organizational goals. This role requires strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a comprehensive understanding of product management along all stages of the SDLC utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies. The Product Owner will oversee the entire product lifecycle, from requirements gathering to user acceptance testing, ensuring delivery of high-quality products that meet customer needs. Experience with JIRA, Atlassian products and SmartSheet are desirable.

Requirements

  • 5+ years experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role within software development environments.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC processes including Agile, and Waterfall methodologies.
  • Proficiency in project management tools like Jira and Smartsheet; adept at requirements gathering and creating detailed documentation including test cases and visual requirements.
  • Strong analysis skills combined with leadership qualities to guide teams through complex projects while maintaining clear communication channels.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical knowledge of APIs, HTML, Java, SQL databases, Microsoft Office suite, UML diagrams, Git version control system, and mobile application development is highly advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Define and prioritize product backlog items based on business value, customer feedback, and technical feasibility.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and translate them into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Deconstruct high-level features into Epics and User Stories with clear, testable acceptance criteria.
  • Lead sprint planning sessions, backlog grooming, and iteration reviews with internal and external partner teams.
  • Work with development teams to ensure timely delivery of features while maintaining high quality standards through effective analysis skills and test case development.
  • Coordinate with IT infrastructure teams to ensure seamless integration with existing systems and databases.
  • Create requirements artifacts that best communicate the work to be done and tracked throughout the product lifecycles. To include user stories, mock-ups, flow diagrams, etc to visualize product features.
  • Manage product development lifecycle using project management software such as SmartSheet, Jira or other tools as desired.
  • Facilitate user acceptance testing (UAT) to validate functionality before deployment.
  • Monitor product performance metrics using analytics tools to inform future enhancements.
  • Communicate progress and updates effectively across cross-functional teams including developers, QA, marketing, and executive leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with IT governance standards and support continuous improvement initiatives.
