About The Position

The Product Owner for the Aviation Fuel Management System (AFMS) at World Fuel Services is responsible for overseeing the development, deployment, and support of the AFMS platform. This role involves collaborating with operational and industry professionals to ensure the system meets the needs of global operations, particularly in managing aviation fuel stock accounting and sales. The position requires a strategic mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to engage effectively with business leadership and stakeholders, while also focusing on execution and continuous improvement of the product.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or related field.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Master's degree or MBA preferred.
  • Strong project management skills and experience with Agile methodology.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills, with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
  • Proven track record of launching high-value products and managing customer interactions.
  • Experience in the Energy industry, particularly aviation fuel storage and distribution.

  • Experience with custom web technologies and off-the-shelf solutions.
  • Strong persuasion skills and ability to gain buy-in to a common vision.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Product Manager in the development and continuous improvement of the AFMS and related products.
  • Manage relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality service and compliance with contracts.
  • Identify opportunities to deploy the AFMS across various operational locations, including bid support and requirement specification.
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert support on the installation, operation, and configuration of the platform.
  • Deliver training and ongoing operational support for AFMS users and junior team members.
  • Ensure timely responses to support requests and maintain relevant records.
  • Oversee the tracking and reporting of aviation fuel stock levels and enforce company policy on sales data transmission.
  • Comply with the idea lifecycle process and maintain accurate JIRA tickets.
  • Develop an expert understanding of fuel sales and accounting processes for compliance.
  • Collaborate with technology teams to integrate hardware solutions and API feeds into the AFMS platform.
  • Maintain accurate records of hardware and software components of the AFMS.
  • Support stakeholder and customer engagement and promote the benefits of the AFMS across the business.
  • Guide and mentor junior team members on system application and problem-solving.
