About The Position
The Product Owner - Planning will play a crucial role in the Agile team, focusing on story definition and providing necessary clarifications to assist the team with their story estimates and sequencing. This position involves collaborating with the entire Agile team to determine their Program Increment (PI) objectives for the upcoming PI. The Product Owner is primarily responsible for building, editing, and maintaining the team backlog, which consists mainly of user stories, but also includes defects and enablers. The backlog items are prioritized based on user value, time, and other team dependencies identified during the PI planning meeting and refined throughout the PI process. In preparation for Iteration Planning, the Product Owner reviews and reprioritizes the backlog, coordinating dependencies with other Product Owners. During the iteration planning meeting, the Product Owner communicates story details and priorities, ensuring that the team aligns and agrees on a final iteration plan. The candidate will be responsible for maintaining a proper flow of user stories, which may occur before the iteration, during iteration planning, or throughout the iteration. Additionally, the Product Owner will collaborate with the team to detail stories with acceptance criteria and examples in the form of acceptance tests.
