Modivcare is looking for an experienced Product Owner III to join our team, serving as the Workday Platform Administrator. The Product Owner III for the Workday Platform serves as the accountable owner for backlog, outcomes, and platform administration across Modivcare’s Workday ecosystem, including Workday Accounting Center, Workday Finance (inclusive of Adaptive Planning), and Workday Human Capital Management. This role partners with Finance and HR leaders to translate platform strategy into an executable roadmap and prioritized backlog, and directly administers and configures Workday to deliver value, maintain platform integrity, and reduce operational risk. When needs exceed internal capacity or require specialized expertise, this role engages and manages external vendor support to complete work effectively and compliantly. This role… Product Vision, Strategy Translation, and Roadmap Execution Acts as the key point of contact between business stakeholders and platform execution to ensure alignment on Workday priorities and outcomes. Owns and continuously refines the Workday roadmap and backlog across Accounting Center, Finance and Adaptive Planning, and HCM. Translates strategic objectives into clearly defined initiatives, epics, user stories, and configuration tasks with measurable acceptance criteria. Prioritizes work based on business value, risk mitigation, compliance requirements, and operational impact. Manages cross-module dependencies across Finance, HCM, security, reporting, and integrations. Workday Administration and Platform Enablement Serves as a hands-on Workday administrator responsible for tenant configuration and operational support within defined governance standards. Administers business processes, security roles, domain policies, supervisory organizations, financial structures, reporting frameworks, calculated fields, dashboards, and other configuration components. Supports release management activities including documentation, testing coordination, deployment sequencing, and stakeholder communications. Ensures system changes are sustainable, documented, and aligned to enterprise architecture and audit standards. Outcomes, Reporting, and Controls Defines and monitors KPIs tied to platform outcomes, including close cycle efficiency, planning cycle performance, payroll accuracy, data quality, accounting event integrity, and reporting timeliness. Ensures changes are audit-ready and compliant with separation of duties, internal controls, and regulatory requirements. Establishes reporting visibility and instrumentation to measure release impact and operational performance. Stakeholder Leadership and Communications Collaborates with Finance, Accounting, Payroll, HR, Benefits, and operational stakeholders to gather requirements and align priorities. Acts as the primary platform contact for backlog status, issue triage, release outcomes, and impact assessments. Facilitates prioritization and trade-off decisions to ensure focus on enterprise value realization. Communicates release updates and platform changes clearly to stakeholders. Vendor Engagement and Managed Services Orchestration Determines when external vendor support is required based on complexity, capacity, or specialized expertise. Defines scope, deliverables, timelines, and acceptance criteria for vendor-supported initiatives. Oversees vendor execution and ensures knowledge transfer, documentation, and quality standards are met. Optimizes vendor utilization by retaining routine administration internally and directing external spend toward high-value or complex initiatives. Workday Scope of Ownership Accounting Center: accounting event mapping, transformation rules, validation frameworks, reconciliation support, and downstream posting integrity. Workday Finance and Adaptive Planning: planning models, forecasting enablement, reporting frameworks, financial process configuration, and close cycle support. Human Capital Management: core HCM administration, business process configuration, security and role administration, workforce reporting, and operational analytics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, enterprise platform, or ERP/HCM systems role with demonstrated ownership of complex backlogs and stakeholder alignment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience administering or configuring enterprise platforms, strongly preferred Workday experience in Finance and/or HCM.
  • Strong skills in requirements definition, backlog management, prioritization, and outcome measurement.
  • Experience working directly with Finance and HR business stakeholders in an enterprise environment.
  • Functional experience in Workday Accounting Center, Workday Finance, Adaptive Planning, and/or HCM.
  • Experience coordinating managed services or external Workday partners.
  • Strong understanding of Agile principles and backlog management practices.
  • Ability to manage complex enterprise issues while balancing competing priorities.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to audit, compliance, and control requirements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated stakeholder management and influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency in Jira, Confluence, Aha, and enterprise reporting tools.
  • Financial and operational acumen, including understanding of close cycles, planning processes, payroll operations, and internal controls.
  • Strong documentation discipline and governance mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively with geographically distributed teams.
