About The Position

Product Owner III – Space   Who is Beast Code? Beast Code was founded in 2014 by a small group of friends with a revolutionary vision to transcend the traditional defense solution paradigm and build better technology that supports the mission. Headquartered in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, today we have evolved into a matrix organization of over 200 Beasts scattered across the United States. We are dedicated to delivering modern and intuitive software solutions that directly enhances the warfighter every day. What sets Beast Code apart is how we partner with our customers. We don’t just build for them, we build with them, ensuring every solution meets real world needs. Guided by core values of trust, purpose, and relentless innovation, we’re proudly redefining what it means to serve those who serve.                                                                                    Product Owner (Space Team) Description A long time ago in a galaxy not so far away… Beast Code set out to revolutionize defense and space solutions. Now, we’re looking for a well-experienced Product Owner (PO) to help steer our next generation of software solutions to modernize Spaceport launch operations for the U.S Space Force.   This position directly supports our Space Team, and the ideal candidate will have experience leading Software Engineering and familiar with DevOps and Cyber. Like a seasoned Rebel Alliance strategist, you’ll guide our developer team, ensuring projects stay on course, meet the mission objectives, and reach their deployed destinations successfully.   As a Product Owner, your primary role is to maximize the value of the product by organizing and managing the work of the software development team. This means keeping the Product Backlog organized, prioritized, and up to date. Previous experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and GitLab are highly desirable. But let’s be clear: this is no position for an Imperial micromanager. We need a big-picture thinker – a macro-manager who empowers the team while ensuring alignment between business objectives, development progress, and customer needs. You’ll be the primary communicator between the business, the development team, and our clients.   To join our galactic council, you should possess the following skills:  · Strategic Vision: See the big picture for both the business and development teams, and break complex goals into manageable, sprint-ready missions. Ability to plan and execute regular sprint cycles that provide smaller actionable tasks to developers that align to important project goals.    · Communication: Like a seasoned Jedi, you must be skilled in articulating the mission clearly to both the Beast Code software development team and our primary stakeholders to ensure teams stay aligned throughout the development journey.  · Mediator: A calm demeanor and thick skin are a must, as you’ll be simultaneously managing the goal and balancing expectations between the team, business, and   client. The PO also is a stand-in for the client, so clearly understanding customer requirements and feedback and to continuously improving the product is a key function.   If this sounds like your kind of adventure, then step into the cockpit. You may even declare yourself the Captain, but only once- and it must be in full Han Solo swagger!
