About The Position

Sapien is rethinking how finance teams operate in the age of AI. We’re building toward an autonomous CFO—systems that run company financials end-to-end. Our platform analyzes complex financial data in real time to increase decision cadence, prevent costly mistakes, and surface value. Sapien has caught multi-million-dollar errors, saved thousands of jobs, and returned significant dollars to customers’ bottom lines. We partner with traditional businesses—manufacturing, healthcare, restaurants, and large enterprises—to deeply understand and automate their financial workflows. We’re HQ’d by Madison Square Park in NYC and backed by General Catalyst, Neo, and top operators from Google, OpenAI, Microsoft, Ramp, and Stripe (over $9M raised). As one of Sapien’s first Product Managers, you’ll own core pieces of the autonomous CFO platform—data ingestion, reconciliation, anomaly detection, forecasting, workflow automation, and more. You’ll work directly with founders, engineers, and customers to turn messy, high-stakes finance processes into intuitive, AI-powered workflows. You’ll define problems, shape product strategy, run tight feedback loops, and ship fast.

Requirements

  • 3–6 years of product management or related work.
  • High attention to detail & excellent communication skills.
  • Comfort with complex domains and messy datasets.
  • Excellent product sense—able to simplify workflows and focus teams on what matters.
  • Ability to work closely with engineers while staying deeply connected to customer needs.

Responsibilities

  • Own a product surface from 0→1 and 1→n. Drive the entire lifecycle — problem framing, requirements, rapid prototyping, launch, and ongoing iteration — with a focus on shipping fast and learning from real usage.
  • Immerse yourself in customer workflows. Work alongside CFOs, controllers, FP&A leads, and operators to map their processes with precision, understand friction points, and distill them into clear product opportunities.
  • Champion product quality. Sweat the details on UX, latency, edge cases, and correctness.
  • Close the loop across the company. Communicate clearly with leadership, GTM, engineering, and customers to drive alignment, surface tradeoffs, and ensure everyone understands what’s shipped and why.
  • Act as the connective tissue. Bridge what customers need, what engineering can build, and what advances in AI unlock — ensuring the product evolves at the pace of the frontier.
