Amazon MGM Studios is seeking an experienced Product Manager - Technical (PMT III) to drive the product vision and strategy for our Studio in the Cloud (SITC) initiative. SITC is transforming how entertainment content is created by moving all major production and post-production workflows from traditional on-premises infrastructure to AWS cloud-based solutions. This initiative encompasses nine core workflows—Dailies, Editorial, VFX, Sound, Conform, Color, Mastering, QC/Delivery, and Remote Production—representing the complete content creation lifecycle from Original Camera Footage (OCF) ingestion through final delivery. In this role, you will own the product lifecycle for workflows that enable creative professionals, production companies, and post-production vendors to collaborate globally using industry-standard tools integrated on AWS. You will work with leading creative tool providers including Avid, Adobe, Colorfront, and Blackmagic, as well as major post-production vendors such as Company 3, Fotokem, Picture Shop, and others who service the majority of high-value productions. Your work will reduce hardware dependencies, eliminate physical media transport, enable real-time global collaboration, and accelerate production timelines while maintaining the creative quality and flexibility that content creators demand. As a PMT III, you will operate independently with limited guidance, managing high ambiguity as you define product strategy, feature design, and technology approaches for a highly relationship-driven industry. You will navigate the complex dynamics between creative trust, vendor partnerships, technical innovation, and business transformation. Your work will influence engineering organization priorities and the strategic direction of cloud-based production across Amazon MGM Studios' International Originals and Global Originals slates, spanning over 150 productions annually across multiple regions. This role requires a unique blend of technical depth in distributed systems and media workflows, product management expertise, deep understanding of creative production processes, and exceptional stakeholder management. You will work backwards from the needs of directors, editors, colorists, VFX artists, and production teams to define solutions that enhance rather than disrupt their creative process. Success requires building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups including creative teams, engineering organizations, vendors, compliance teams, legal, business affairs, and executive leadership. Studio in the Cloud represents Amazon MGM Studios' comprehensive initiative to modernize entertainment production by moving the entire content creation process to AWS. By ingesting Original Camera Footage directly to the cloud, SITC enables all downstream workflows—from dailies processing through final delivery—to occur securely in the cloud environment. This transformation eliminates dependencies on physical media transport, reduces hardware capital expenditures, enables seamless global collaboration, and provides the elastic compute resources needed for computationally intensive workflows like rendering and color grading. SITC has demonstrated significant impact on productions across multiple regions and formats. Productions like LOL Norway accelerated post-production by two weeks by sending footage directly from set to cloud instead of transporting physical drives. Cada Minuto Cuenta reduced dailies processing time by 50 percent—from six hours per day on-premises to three hours in the cloud. Pimpinero successfully shifted post-production from Bogotá to Los Angeles after an unexpected travel restriction while maintaining schedules and tax incentives. Ministry of Love became the first Amazon MGM Studios production to complete cloud-based color grading entirely in SITC, establishing configuration standards for future shows. These examples demonstrate how SITC removes friction, improves security and data handling, and supports global collaboration without compromising creative quality. The initiative also aligns with broader Studios goals including consistent Tier 1 security standards, significantly lower carbon emissions compared to traditional production approaches, and more equitable access to production infrastructure across international regions. SITC establishes the foundation for future innovations including animation workflow optimization and AI-powered creative tools, while maintaining the creative-first approach that differentiates Amazon's solution from competitors who have struggled with creative team resistance and vendor adoption.
