As a Product Manager, you will manage assigned products including strategic product planning, definition, forecasting, product margin, promotion and product life cycle management. You will also be responsible for coordinating activities relative to assigned products with development engineering and manufacturing as well as work with Commercial Marketing, Sales, third-party partners and other Rockwell product groups. You will be an individual contributor and report to the Global Business Manager, Servo Motors, Cables and Software.

  • Develop vision, strategy and business plans to grow the Rockwell Automation Servo Motor portfolio and assigned product range
  • Lead development of product roadmaps and improvements
  • Manage all aspects of product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, including initiation of product improvements, enhancements, approval of change notices and product obsolescence consistent with business objectives; marketing strategies and forecast activities for assigned product lines.
  • Support product promotion and product introductions. Also responsible for promotion plans including trade shows, product literature plan, product training plan and product distribution plan in collaboration with marketing teams.
  • Develop product requirements for new products and existing product line extensions
  • Determine global product pricing and recommended pricing policies based on established gross margin objectives and prepare plans for margin improvement.
  • Assert financial acumen to advise on product line's profit and loss, balance sheet and market growth rate statistics
  • Analyze market trends, customer requirements and competitive strategy to identify opportunities to increase customer and business value through product differentiation.
  • Work with functional partners to maintain full production and continuous process improvements to quality, product cost, manufacturing yield and supply chain efficiency.
  • Be an expert and promoter for products and features you manage.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget and according to quality standards.
  • Maintain high-level relationships with key partner companies to drive greater adoption.
  • Be a strong leader within a cross-functional team, developing the right products and features to fill market needs, and serve as the customer advocate interacting with functional partners including Engineering partners, Program Management, Market Development, Finance, Quality and Legal.
  • Make appropriate and timely decisions based on current information and ensure adherence to existing company policy relating to delegation of authority.
  • Be a spokesperson for the Motion Business when traveling with Sales Division employees and/or customers.
  • Take an active role in the development of customer success stories and commercial marketing collateral as it pertains to the value proposition of Servo Motors.
  • Conduct tasks in accordance with applicable health, safety, quality, and environmental regulations (state/federal laws, ISO9001, ISO14000, etc.) as well as Rockwell Automation policies and procedures.
  • Bachelor's Degree.

  • Ability to travel, including internationally, up to 20% of time.
  • Typically requires 8+ years of related experience and demonstrated knowledge of industrial automation applications
  • 2+ years of Product Management, Sales or Engineering experience in the Industrial Automation industry
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related discipline
  • Product management experience within the Motion Control or Robotics Industry
  • Strong customer relationship management skills and ability to collaborate across different functions and business units to achieve common objectives

  • Solid understanding and knowledge of the Industrial Automation industry.
