Product Manager - Public Safety Solutions
About The Position
The Strategic Product Manager – Public Safety Solutions will leverage deep expertise in Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) and an extensive network of law enforcement relationships to define and drive the strategic roadmap for the company's law enforcement application portfolio. This role serves as the critical bridge between market needs, product strategy, and revenue generation, working collaboratively across Application Development, Sales, and Support teams. The Product Manager will identify market opportunities, translate client needs into actionable product requirements, and support business development efforts to build a robust pipeline of public safety solutions. The Product Manager will perform all responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in CJIS-related roles with demonstrated expertise in Criminal Justice Information Systems, law enforcement operations, or public safety technology
- Proven experience in product management, product strategy, or similar strategic planning roles within the law enforcement or public sector technology space
- Extensive network of relationships across law enforcement agencies at federal, state, and local levels
- Strong understanding of law enforcement workflows, data requirements, and operational challenges
- Experience translating complex technical concepts for both technical and non-technical audiences
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills
- Strategic thinker with ability to identify market opportunities and translate them into actionable product requirements
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple teams and disciplines
- Willingness to travel 10-25% for client meetings, conferences, and relationship-building activities
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience
Nice To Haves
- Sales experience or business development background preferred
- Knowledge of RFP processes and government procurement procedures strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Define and maintain the strategic product roadmap for law enforcement solutions based on market research, client feedback, and CJIS ecosystem trends
- Serve as the subject matter expert on CJIS requirements, law enforcement workflows, and public safety technology needs
- Collaborate with the Director of Application Development, and the sales and development teams to prioritize features, capabilities, and product releases
- Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging opportunities, competitive positioning, and unmet needs in the law enforcement software market
- Leverage national network of law enforcement contacts to gather requirements, validate product concepts, and build strategic relationships
- Partner with Sales team to identify and pursue RFP opportunities, providing technical guidance and law enforcement domain expertise
- Participate in client meetings and demonstrations to articulate product vision, gather requirements, and establish credibility with law enforcement stakeholders
- Work with Sales team to develop compelling proposals, Statements of Work, and sales materials tailored to law enforcement clients
- Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications for development team review
- Serve as liaison between clients, sales, and development teams to ensure alignment on product capabilities and timelines
- Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements affecting the law enforcement software landscape
- Represent the company at law enforcement conferences, public safety events, and industry forums to build brand awareness and identify opportunities
- Provide strategic input on go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and positioning for law enforcement solutions
- Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders across federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies
- Communicate product roadmap progress and market insights to internal leadership and cross-functional teams
