About the position

The PIT Mining Applications Product Manager supports the ME Fully Integrated Technologies strategy. The ME FIT strategy is the foundation of the ME Global vision for continuous improvement. This strategy is an exceptional value-creation program that enhances ME Global competitiveness. The product manager provides process application knowledge to support ME Global design and manufacturing expertise. This unique position requires an experienced professional specializing in PIT mining applications specific to mining operations and material handling including in-depth mechanical and marketing understanding of Electric Rope Mining Shovels, Rotary Blast Hole Drills, and Haul Trucks. The product manager must take care of all aspects related to their product line to provide the correct solution to the problem the client is facing, using all the tools provided by the VAES philosophy and the ME FIT System strategy. Additionally, the Product Manager will be in charge of supporting the implementation of field support services, which may be deployed through service technicians who may report to the Product Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Business Development, Technical and Commercial teams to develop and execute the product strategy for the portfolio, aligned with the company's overall vision and objectives.
  • Identify market trends, customer requirements, and industry dynamics to drive product roadmap decisions.
  • Lead and accompany value generation initiatives for the product line in charge through the execution of ME FIT System programs and quantifying the value through the VAES philosophy, generating consolidated reports on the progress of these strategies in their respective area of action.
  • Collaborate with intercompany team to conceptualize and develop cutting-edge new solutions that meet customer needs and exceed industry standards.
  • Stay informed about competitors' products, pricing, and market strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Obtain product market share by working with the sales team for insight and to develop product sales strategies.
  • Engage with customers and industry stakeholders to understand their pain points, challenges, and evolving requirements.
  • Collect operation information, analyze, and create technical reports to be presented with recommendations on how to improve results.
  • Create a business case for customers to maintain or convert to ME Global products using test programs and PIT mining applications.
  • Present training seminars to internal and external stakeholders and participate in Mining Technical and Trade Shows.
  • Provide product knowledge and training materials to support the sales team in effectively presenting and selling our products specific to PIT mining processes.
  • Ensure that all products adhere to quality standards, safety regulations, and industry certifications.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to address and resolve any product-related issues.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of PIT mining equipment solutions, including updates, enhancements, and end-of-life decisions.
  • Analyze product performance and customer feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, sales, quality, and service, to align product strategies and ensure seamless execution.
  • Work with project management on all internal efforts required for product commercialization, including work with development, quality, operations, service, finance, and related roles.
  • Work with the sales team to evaluate tools post-launch and drive revisions or additional activities to fill any remaining needs.
  • Well-versed in PIT mining operations for the mining industry.
  • Experience with simulation software and models.
  • Proven skills using good rational and business acumen in anticipating and solving challenges in PIT mining applications.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities to effectively convey product concepts and strategies.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively across functions, locations, and global teams.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving, research, analytical skills, attention to detail, and multi-tasking capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Language proficiency: English, Spanish a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage projects to completion.
  • Proficiency in product management tools and software.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
