About The Position

The Product Manager at Barclays is responsible for developing and managing the success of specific financial products and services, particularly in the Payments sector. This role requires in-depth expertise in product features, market trends, and customer needs, bridging the gap between product development, marketing, sales, and customer service to enhance product offerings and ensure client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Proven track record of owning and delivering projects and/or initiatives.
  • Solid grasp of Payments products (Wire, ACH, Check, and FX) including industry standard formats (MT, NACHA, Swift, XML).
  • Experience in financial services with knowledge of Corporate Banking Products.
  • Strong analytical and interpretative thinking skills to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Provide SME expertise on specific products and services to customers and colleagues, including features, functionalities, benefits, limitations, risks, and compliance.
  • Identify market trends, new features, regulatory requirements, and potential risks, analyzing data from sales figures and customer feedback to support product development.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, resolve issues, and provide guidance on product usage.
  • Present product advantages and features to potential customers, building trust and encouraging adoption.
  • Assist in the development and execution of marketing materials for the product, such as brochures, presentations, and online content.
  • Participate in training sessions and workshops to share product knowledge and expertise with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Engage in events, conferences, and networking opportunities to showcase the product and generate interest.
  • Advise key stakeholders on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, supporting the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls related to the team's work.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work to align support with business strategies.
  • Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought, comparing and selecting complex alternatives.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders to accomplish key business objectives.
