About The Position
Software AG is seeking an experienced COBOL mainframe modernization specialist to drive the product strategy and adoption of a new product aimed at modernizing COBOL z/OS applications using Java technologies. This role is crucial as it supports large enterprises and government organizations globally in optimizing and modernizing their business-critical applications. The specialist will work within a multi-stakeholder environment, collaborating with presales, professional services, and partners to ensure successful project outcomes. The position requires a high level of technical credibility and a customer-centric mindset, as well as a passion for being a thought leader in the IBM Z market. The responsibilities include assisting customers in Proof of Concepts (PoC) to validate product capabilities, understanding complex customer issues, and recommending technical solutions. The specialist will also be responsible for collecting, reviewing, and managing customer requirements, translating them into ranked feature backlogs, and improving the demo environment to showcase product capabilities. Additionally, the role involves creating content and market awareness through various channels such as webinars, events, social media, and blogs, while working closely with product marketing. Collaboration is key in this role, as the specialist will work closely with cross-functional international teams, including product management, engineering, and solution architects, to drive the product strategy and roadmap. Staying informed about relevant mainframe modernization market trends and the competitive landscape is essential for success in this position.
