About The Position

Job Overview The PM Operations Manager serves as an internal Product Manager, leading and managing internal-facing product management activities to drive cost optimization for margin protection & expansion within the existing business. This position must be familiar with product management processes and be capable of collaborating with all functional partners, including Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Finance, and Sales, within DND. What you will be doing: As a PM Operations Manager, the primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Internal execution for excellence. Drive continuous margin protection & expansion via cost improvement actions. Serve as a liaison of internal systems to support day-to-day operations. Lead/participate in special assignments from the PM leadership team.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance would be preferred; documented experience instead of a degree would be acceptable
  • Strong communication skills and ability to cooperate with internal function partners (including TEIS, Procurement, Footprint, Engineering, Operations, and Finance) and time zones.
  • Strong problem-solving and result-driven mindset.
  • Proven records of ownership and business judgment that align with product strategy/business priorities.
  • Proven records of refining the processes and implementing improvements.
  • Proven records of driving down costs for margin protection.
  • Proven Proficiency in collaboration with plants.
  • Solid understanding and experience of cost.
  • Familiarity with customer production drawings and product specifications.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Product Management, Project Management, or Footprint optimization preferred.
  • TE Internal process experts strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Internal Execution for Excellence
  • Lead and resolve critical issues with functional partners to drive results.
  • Collaborate with internal function partners as an internal-facing product manager and drive sustainable operating advantages.
  • Drive Continuous Margin Protection and Expansion for Existing Business
  • Partner and collaborate with TEIS, GTS (Global Trade Compliance), SBT (Self-directed Business Team), and Operations to identify high-potential parts based upon tariff impact and lead the course of action to mitigate the impact.
  • Drive the VA/VE cost and/or part selection process for the Tariff/COO perspectives.
  • Work closely with the broader product management organization to align the BU's tariff mitigation strategies and drive effective results.
  • Mastering the main factors of cost structure by product groups.
  • Analyze and leverage price/cost insights collected from NPI phases, market, and competition to anticipate cost trends and expectations.
  • Continue to drive cost optimization for existing business.
  • Serve as a liaison of internal systems to support day-to-day operations
  • Mastering internal systems (SAP, CPR, Business Insights, TED queries, etc.) and the boundaries to provide insights from cost aspects.
  • Deliver tutorial sessions on internal systems to facilitate the product management team's day-to-day operations.
  • Facilitate PM productivity gain by building a standard work repository.
