About The Position

In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users. The AI Foundations Platform team are responsible for defining and building the horizontal AI capabilities in Google Workspace (Gmail, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Chat, Meet, Vids). From the persistent Gemini for Google Workspace side panel and unified AI surfaces to the underlying infrastructure for model serving, training, and evaluation that brings Gemini to every Workspace application. As a Product Manager, you will join a high-visibility, mission-critical team dedicated to the GenAI user experience across the entire Google Workspace suite. This role offers the unique opportunity to work at the intersection of AI Foundations and Google Workspace applications, ensuring that Gemini functions as a seamless, native partner within every Google Workspace app. AI will change the future of work in profound ways, and our products— Gmail, Docs, Drive, Calendar, Sheets, Vids and Meet are at the forefront. From pre-computed summaries for email threads, summaries for meetings, and videos created from a document using lifelike AI avatars, our AI opportunity is huge. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $138,000-$198,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in product management or related technical role.
  • 1 year of experience taking technical products from conception to launch (e.g., ideation to execution, end-to-end, 0 to 1, etc).
  • Experience developing or launching products or technologies within artificial intelligence or Machine Learning (AI/ML).

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
  • 2 years of experience in a business function or role (e.g., strategic marketing, business operations, consulting).
  • 2 years of experience in a role preparing and delivering technical presentations to senior leadership.
  • 2 years of experience working cross-functionally with engineering, UX/UI, sales finance, and other stakeholders.
  • 1 year of experience in software development or engineering.
  • Knowledge of, or continued interest in, building accessibility best practices, and experience/curiosity for incorporating accessibility into product development methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of AI components like side panel and related entry points for Gemini for Google Workspace.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to track the rollout of new model capabilities to our GenAI surfaces.
  • Help define requirements for new primitives needed by Workspace apps, including mobile form factors and voice native fulfillment.
  • Support with alignment syncs to ensure that app-specific surface rendering and controls remain consistent with the broader fulfillment framework.
  • Monitor adoption roadmaps and identify potential risks or dependencies.
