About The Position

The Product Manager, Educational Technology (EdTech) at Vertex Education will play a critical role in changing lives through education by driving the strategic development and management of educational technology products. This role will primarily focus on Student Information Systems (SIS) platforms, ensuring their optimal operation and integration, while also managing a broader range of EdTech tools and solutions that empower educators, streamline learning processes, and enhance student outcomes. The Product Manager will collaborate closely with IT to ensure they are equipped to provide effective user support, while also engaging with other stakeholders to align product development with the evolving needs of students, educators, and administrators.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in product management, preferably with a focus on educational technology platforms or SIS systems (e.g., PowerSchool, InfiniteCampus).
  • Strong background in data management, including creating reports, queries, and managing data accuracy.
  • Experience in collaborating with IT teams, developing user support materials, and ensuring smooth technology adoption.
  • Proven experience managing full product lifecycle and delivering successful technology solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) and Lean Six Sigma Certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Define and own the product vision for EdTech platforms, with a focus on SIS, ensuring alignment with Vertex's mission of transforming education.
  • Develop and manage the strategic roadmap for SIS and other educational technology platforms, driving ROI and prioritizing initiatives that enhance learning outcomes and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee product life cycles, ensuring seamless integration with systems like PowerSchool, InfiniteCampus, and other key technologies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with our customers and stakeholders, including educators, administrators, IT staff, and external vendors to ensure effective adoption and optimization of SIS and other EdTech platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT to ensure they are equipped to provide effective user support by creating and delivering documentation, job aids, and training materials.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all product-related communications, managing expectations, gathering feedback, and fostering continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of student data within EdTech platforms, including demographic information, grades, attendance, and disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and implement data validation, verification, and cleanup procedures across all EdTech systems.
  • Generate reports and manage data-related requests for stakeholders, using tools like SQL for queries and analysis.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives for SIS and broader EdTech solutions, leveraging Lean Six Sigma methodologies to enhance product performance and streamline processes.
  • Implement rigorous testing, quality assurance, and performance monitoring to maintain high standards of security, functionality, and user experience across all platforms.
  • Stay informed on EdTech trends and leverage market data to drive product decisions and direction, integrating innovative solutions that keep Vertex at the forefront of educational technology.
