About The Position

We are looking for a data-driven Hardware Product Management Intern to join our team and help modernize our decision-making processes. In this role, you will not just be "crunching numbers," you will be architecting how our team tracks performance and views the market. Our Product Management team oversees complex product line financials and forecasting. Currently, these processes are manual and time-intensive. We are looking for an intern with a blend of business acumen and technical scripting skills to automate these workflows, allowing our PMs to focus less on data entry and more on strategy. In this role, you’ll be responsible for: Financial Workflow Automation: Review current manual spreadsheet processes for product line financials and forecasts. Design and implement scripts (Python/VBA) to automate data collection, cleaning, and updating. Streamlining Forecasting: Reduce the time-to-update for monthly and quarterly forecasts by building dynamic models that pull from live data sources rather than static inputs. Market Intelligence Automation: Develop a system to aggregate industry market data from various sources. Automate the generation of market reports to track competitor movement and industry trends. Dashboard Development: Translate raw financial and market data into interactive, easy-to-read visualizations using Power BI for executive leadership. Process Optimization: Work closely with Senior Product Managers to identify other administrative "pain points" that can be solved through code and automation. Who we’re looking for: A Problem Solver: A natural curiosity to ask, "Is there a faster way to do this?" and the technical ability to build the solution. A Communicator: Ability to explain technical automation concepts to non-technical stakeholders. Interest in Hardware: A genuine interest in physical products, electronics, and hardware lifecycles. What You Will Learn: Product Strategy: Gain exposure to how hardware product lines are managed financially, from forecasting to end-of-life. Real-World Automation: See the immediate impact on business efficiency. Market Analysis: Learn how to interpret industry data to influence product roadmap decisions. Work directly with experienced Product Managers and Engineering leaders. Proficiency in Excel, including complex formulas and pivot tables, including strong experience with VBA/Macros for Excel automation and/or Python (pandas, NumPy) for data manipulation. Experience creating dashboards and reports in Power BI (or similar tools like Tableau). Ability to interpret complex data sets and identify outliers or trends. Ability to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship now or in the future. Satisfactory completion of a background check. The team you will be joining: Product management is the process of strategically directing every stage of the product lifecycle—from research and development to pricing and positioning—to build technically feasible products that fulfill both customer needs and business objectives. A famous quote from PM guru Martin Eriksson says product management is what happens “at the intersection between business, technology, and user experience.” In short: product managers analyze business, technology, and customer needs, then define product solutions and guide a product team to deliver them. Product management is a cross-functional role: effective product management involves cross-functional communication with organizational stakeholders, including C-level executives, engineering, marketing, sales, customer support, and supply chain.
