Summary of Role: As a Product Management Intern focused on wireless and IoT technologies, you will operate at the intersection of hardware engineering and business strategy. This role emphasizes understanding semiconductor-based systems at a PCB and component level and translating technical insights into market‑aligned product and business propositions. You will gain exposure to how GlobalFoundries’ technologies enable wireless, IoT, and ultra‑low‑power applications, while developing skills in market analysis, ambiguity navigation, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Education – At least a sophomore at time of application and actively pursuing a Bachelor’s in Electrical, Computer Engineering, Business Analytics, Statistics, or Product Management or related field through an accredited degree program during the time of internship.
  • Must have at least an overall 3.0 GPA and be in good academic standing.
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the internship.

  • Prior related internship or co-op experience
  • Demonstrated prior leadership experience in the workplace, school projects, competitions, etc.
  • Project management skills, i.e., the ability to innovate and execute on solutions that matter; the ability to navigate ambiguity.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn quickly in new technologies.
  • Strong sense of ownership and accountability, including taking initiative to drive projects from concept through execution.
  • Hands-on academic or project experience with wireless technologies (Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth) and/or IoT systems
  • Familiarity with PCB-level system design, including the ability to identify key components such as power management ICs, wireless connectivity chips, and microcontrollers interest in system design, circuit design, electronics, semiconductors, solid‑state devices, and wireless technologies

Responsibilities

  • Market & Teardown Research Conduct market research and device teardown analysis in wireless and IoT domains (e.g., Wi Fi, Bluetooth, connected devices) to identify technology trends, system architectures, and competitive positioning.
  • Technology-to-Business Translation Synthesize technical findings from teardown and market research into clear business insights and value propositions aligned with GlobalFoundries’ process technologies and offerings.
  • Cross-Functional Exposure Collaborate with product management, commercial teams, and potentially customers to understand how technical capabilities translate into customer value and market opportunity.
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
