We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Product Line Engineering team supporting the development and sustainment of Oscilloscopes, Probes, and Accessories. In this role, you will collaborate closely with engineering and cross-functional teams—including Program Management, Marketing, Procurement, and Manufacturing—to design and deliver innovative Test & Measurement equipment. You will also lead sustainment and value-add activities for a broad range of existing products. This position requires strong communication skills and the ability to work professionally across teams and disciplines.

Requirements

  • Education: BSME or MSME required.
  • Experience: 6+ years in electro-mechanical product design.
  • Strong knowledge of: Sheet metal design, fabrication, tolerancing, and assembly. Structural analysis for chassis design and system-level integration. Thermal analysis techniques; experience with CFD tools (Celsius Thermal Solver a plus).
  • Proficiency in: Creo & Windchill CAD software; Creo Simulate desired. Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel.
  • Experience with: Prototyping, testing, and evaluating designs. Designing cables, PCBs, plastics, and machined parts (RF interconnect and shielding a plus).
  • Ability to: Work independently or within a small team. Lead small projects and coordinate cross-functional activities. Apply basic statistics for design analysis and DOE.
  • Understanding of: Additive manufacturing processes. Production and assembly processes for electronic equipment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to travel occasionally.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies for oscilloscopes, probes, and accessories.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate customer requirements into robust mechanical solutions.
  • Support new product development from concept through production release.
  • Perform design analysis for structural integrity, thermal performance, and manufacturability.
  • Lead prototyping, testing, and evaluation of designs, including dynamics, thermal, and EMC considerations.
  • Optimize designs for cost, quality, and ease of manufacturing in partnership with operations and suppliers.
  • Create and maintain CAD models and drawings using Creo and Windchill; perform simulations with Creo Simulate.
  • Conduct thermal analysis using CFD tools; correlate models with empirical data.
  • Drive design for additive manufacturing and advanced fabrication techniques.
  • Manage small projects and coordinate deliverables across engineering and manufacturing teams.
  • Provide technical support for production issues and implement design improvements for existing products.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations and documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality processes.
  • Travel occasionally to support suppliers, manufacturing sites, or customer engagements.
