About The Position

The Product Line Director will manage the end-to-end passenger interfaces product line strategy to include legacy and new product offerings. Develop and implement the product line strategy to drive growth and profitability for all assigned products and services. Maintain close relationships with the market (customers, evaluators, and potentials) for awareness of market needs. Define and develop road mapping processes. Focus on improving profitability, operational efficiency, problem resolution, and in-service delivery. Communication liaison and manages all product deliverables and timelines. Ensure all product data is accurate and up to date in the applicable systems/tools.

Requirements

  • 4 year degree, preferably in EE or CS. Or 16 years relevant experience, in lieu of a degree
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in Product Management or Marketing (may be reduced with advanced degree)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications (i.e., Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Expert ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers and a diverse range of internal organizations via all methods of communication.
  • Expert ability to drive, influence and collaborate across numerous functional areas.
  • Expert ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Expert communication and decision-making abilities.
  • Expert creative thinking skillset and can resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
  • Expert organization, attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  • Demonstrates advanced judgement in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Previous experience in the aerospace or related industry, preferred.
  • Exposure to IFE or avionics airplane installation projects, airline operations and/or electronics manufacturing, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze various market segments and collaborate with leadership to choose the best ones to pursue.
  • Lead in the development of the business plan for specific assigned product line(s).
  • Lead the company program directive sessions.
  • Provide leadership of Marketing Strategy & Product Line Forecast sessions and planning.
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing multi-year road map for PAC Products to illustrate our vision and plan into the future.
  • Discover industry problems/issues and develop them into cross-industry opportunities.
  • Lead and develop market size/scope strategy discussions.
  • Lead Product Management and lifecycle focus with KPIs.
  • Determine whether we build, buy, or partner programs to support PAC’s roadmap and vision.
  • Focus on new and switching customers for existing and future products.
  • Lead Product Data Strategy and Product Support Strategy sessions.
  • Lead Product Lifecycle planning sessions.
  • Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or complex assignments.
  • Has authority to make decisions within scope of role and budget. Decisions are guided by established policies, procedures and business plans.
  • Continually monitor and negotiates Product Line commitments to ensure smooth implementation (development milestones, introduction rates, offer ability, etc.).
  • Lead industry product road mapping and strategy sessions.
  • Develop new and existing product plans and provide recommendations to End of Line (EOL) products, as required.
  • Charter research to determine product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with other stakeholders, such as Product Marketing, on the creation of position for your products and identify product interdependencies.
  • Lead external meetings and alignment for product groups.
  • Know why we are winning and losing in the market, and drive changes to our product and processes to create improvements. Complete "Win/Loss" analysis at a Market level.
  • Prepare and consult on final Product Review Board (PRB) package for presentation.
  • Communicate product plan to PAC and to external customers.
  • Lead industry product/program directive meetings and requirements.
  • Lead Industry Steering Committee meetings.
  • Identify and resolve any issues which may inhibit implementation of the plan and on-time delivery.
  • Ensure in-service issues are resolved quickly with a clear escalation process to identify and correct issues involving payments, portals, or other impediments to profitability.
