We have an opportunity for a Product Lab Technician to join our Hanover Park, IL team. You will be responsible for planning, executing, and analyzing tests to ensure products meet quality, performance, and safety standards. This role involves collaborating with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to validate product functionality and reliability.

Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent (required), bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related Engineering field (preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience in product testing or quality assurance.
  • Strong knowledge of testing methodologies, data analysis, and root cause analysis.
  • Proficiency in test equipment and software tools (e.g., LabVIEW, MATLAB, or similar).
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and safety standards.
  • Experience with automated test systems and scripting languages.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and reliability testing.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
  • Basic knowledge of Kanban principles
  • Basic knowledge of LEAN techniques
  • Be able to conduct audits for Quality, 5S and Safety
  • Have strong experience using Microsoft Office products
  • Comfortable working in a complex, fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Be able to work independently and with a team
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Responsibilities

  • Implement test plans, procedures, and protocols for new and existing products.
  • Build test stands and equipment to perform laboratory testing.
  • Perform functional, performance, and durability testing using appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Analyze test data, identify root causes of failures, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO, ASTM, UL).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of test results and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support design validation and product improvements.
  • Assist in the development of automated testing systems where applicable.
  • Monitor and maintain test equipment calibration and safety standards.
