About The Position

The Lead or Senior Product IPT Engineer position at Boeing involves leading systems engineering efforts for the development of mission systems for space and airborne platforms. This role is part of the EO/IR Mission Systems team, which is rapidly expanding due to increased demand. The engineer will oversee the entire lifecycle of product design, from requirements definition to verification and validation testing, while also supporting project management activities. The position requires a collaborative approach to ensure successful integration of technical parameters and compatibility across various systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
• 10+ years of experience in technical leadership.
• 10+ years of experience in systems engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in project engineering.

Nice To Haves

• 20+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience applying systems engineering principles during the development of complex hardware/software solutions on an aerospace platform.
• Experience writing requirements for electrical/electronic, software and firmware systems.
• Experience developing electronic products for space-based applications.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), SysML and Cameo.

Responsibilities

• Lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.
• Evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
• Perform systems engineering for the entire lifecycle of the product from ConOps/requirements definition to verification and validation testing and delivery.
• Support project management activities including schedule development, status reporting and coordination of engineering and development activities.
• Interface with customers, internal/external suppliers and partners for technical collaboration, reviews and reporting of status.
• Lead analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
• Coordinate analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, and other quality factors to ensure mission success.
• Develop and maintain requirements management processes, software configuration management processes, and risk management processes.
• Plan and lead research projects to develop concepts for future product designs.
