About the position

The Product Inspector/Finisher serves as a member of a high performance manufacturing team, creating quality products to satisfy customer needs. This role involves inspecting products, operating hand tools and power equipment to finish products, and preparing them for shipment according to customer specifications and Centro's quality system standards. The position is critical in ensuring that only products meeting or exceeding customer expectations are sent out, thus playing a vital role in achieving quality objectives and minimizing warranty returns.

Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks at various workstations to complete the manufacturing of rotomolded plastic products according to customer and quality specifications.
  • Organize work site for optimum productivity and safety.
  • Use hand and power tools to complete necessary operations on products.
  • Make final inspections of products and prepare them for shipment.
  • Assist team members to achieve desired results and goals.
  • Complete trimming, deburring, sanding, deflashing, and accessory addition as per the Product Summary Report (PSR).
  • Understand and apply Centro quality policy and work towards quality objectives.
  • Comply with safety rules and requirements, promoting a safe work environment.
  • Acquire knowledge of Centro's products, manufacturing terms, and processes.
  • Use computer and read/write documents to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Report product defects and perform necessary rework to meet quality requirements.
  • Maintain accurate production records and ensure communication with team members.
  • Notify leadership of supply needs or equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work site and care for tools and equipment.
  • Engage in continuous improvement through cross-training and education.
  • Assist in training new associates and participate in recycling efforts.

Requirements

  • Additional education and experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools effectively and safely.
  • Desire to learn and apply a wide variety of tasks related to manufacturing.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and perform basic math.
  • Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, and teamwork.
  • Ability to learn and practice basic team functions including problem solving and communication.
