About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic and creative Product Innovation Manager to lead our product innovation initiatives for two CBD brands in a Marketing Role. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving product innovation, renovation, and the development of new product categories from ideation to commercialization. This position requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, Operations, SEO, Purchasing, Production, Design, and Compliance, to bring innovative CBD products to market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, product management, or a related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in product innovation and development, preferably in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry or related sectors.
  • Strong understanding of the CBD market and regulatory landscape is highly desirable.
  • Project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage complex projects.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with various departments.
  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive innovation.
  • Analytical skills to assess market data, consumer insights, and project performance.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and adaptable to a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Shopify, Smartsheet, And Microsoft Office Suite preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Product Innovation Strategy:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive product innovation strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives and market trends.
  • Identify and prioritize innovative product opportunities, including new product categories, improvements to existing products, and novel features.
  • Ideation and Concept Development:
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and idea generation workshops to foster a culture of innovation within the organization.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to transform ideas into well-defined product concepts.
  • Stage Gate Process:
  • Implement and manage a stage gate process for product development, from concept through to commercialization.
  • Ensure rigorous evaluation and testing of product concepts at each stage to mitigate risks and optimize resource allocation.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to understand market needs, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape.
  • Work with Operations, Purchasing, and Production to develop cost-effective production strategies.
  • Coordinate with Design and Compliance teams to ensure product aesthetics and regulatory compliance.
  • Project Management:
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, providing clear direction, timelines, and objectives.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential roadblocks, and implement solutions to ensure project milestones are met.
  • Manage all R&D projects
  • Lead / present internal product development meeting and High Tide product development meeting.
  • Marketing: Market Research and Trends:
  • Stay informed about industry trends, consumer behavior, and emerging technologies related to CBD products.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for innovation.
  • Build case for new products using data, market trends, and industry news
  • Create Competitive Set Analysis on all product launches.
  • Marketing: Product Listing
  • Create and manage all product listings in Woo/Shopify including product descriptions.
  • Write and distribute USPs and talking points for new.
  • Request and manage product images, assets and copy
  • Write/Review/edit new and current product descriptions
  • Calculate and get approval on new product pricing
  • Manage GS1 accounts (UPC codes)
  • Marketing: Other
  • Monthly Marketing Email/Asset Calendar Updates with Daily review /approval of marketing emails
  • Manage Packaging Artwork Requests, and all image requests.
  • Maintain Product Launch Timelines and communicate with all parties for successful launches.
  • Find / manage manufacturing partners for all new projects
  • Lead / present internal product development meeting and High Tide product development meeting.
