About The Position

The Product Governance Advisor will play a critical role in supporting the VP, Product Enablement and their organization by overseeing governance programs and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, supporting processes, documentation, and helping implement strategies to fuel product growth and innovation. This position is responsible to build awareness and understanding of the department vision and strategic direction, support initiatives and strengthen the Product Delivery 'brand'. The Product Governance Advisor will be responsible for strategic, complex, and confidential issues that must be resolved responsibly, efficiently, and professionally. By interacting across multiple functional areas within Product Delivery, the incumbent will increase interdepartmental efficiency by communicating effectively upward to Executive and Senior Leadership, laterally to others on the Product & Digital leadership team and broadly throughout the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Seven (7) years of product management/development in the payments industry or related business experience required, with credit union industry and Velera product knowledge preferred.
  • Five (5) years of experience in a senior role.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving skills, with ability to negotiate with and influence others.
  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation computer software applications.
  • Minimal travel may be required.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the focal point of contact for team to ensure consistent format and flow of information regarding key activities to peer departments and executives.
  • Ensure deadlines and obligations are consistently met.
  • Create simplified narratives for complex issues and messages that are delivered to a wide range audience.
  • Develop and execute information delivery to ensure senior/executive management level awareness for Product Delivery business unit strategies and initiatives.
  • Produce communication that requires collaboration across multiple product delivery departments.
  • Track strategic initiatives and priorities by monitoring progress towards meeting goals and achieving benchmarks, analyzing data, ensuring follow-through on the part of key players, and sustaining momentum needed to drive these initiatives.
  • Recommend action and advise of process improvement opportunities to enhance organizational efficiency and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement plans as necessary.
  • Research, monitor and manage critical initiatives and varied ad hoc projects/reports that fall within and outside of defined department functional areas.
  • Facilitate strategic meetings, develop meeting objectives, set agendas and ensure participants are prepared for the meeting.
  • Advance the objectives and vision of the business unit by driving coordination and ownership of deliverables.
  • Monitor progress and achievement of next steps.
  • Assess the relevance of internal and external department information delivery channels to continually improve strategies and ensure the delivery of consistent communications.
  • Maintain knowledge of emerging payment technology, payment card and financial services industries and monitor the competitive landscape.
  • Help development and implementation of robust governance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define product policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Serve as a key liaison between product, engineering, marketing, sales, and legal teams, fostering collaboration and alignment on product governance and growth initiatives.
  • Champion a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration related to defining key OKRs, SLAs, ticketing, timesheets and other metrics for the department to assess the effectiveness of processes and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Outline and define product workflows and establish centralized master product list project for all product lines including documenting client-reseller specific differences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
