About The Position

Product Engineering Intern — Ricoh Graphic Communications | Boulder, CO Make a real impact this summer. Join Ricoh's Graphic Communications team in Boulder, Colorado, where you'll tackle real-world engineering challenges at the intersection of data analysis, systems engineering, and creative problem-solving . What You'll Do: Analyze and improve how technical information flows across our production printing systems Dig into data to drive product quality and process improvements Troubleshoot and solve real customer issues — not busy work Collaborate hands-on in the lab with international, cross-functional teams What You'll Gain: Experience blending engineering and data science in a professional setting Exposure to a global product development organization The satisfaction of work that directly impacts product and service quality Who You Are: A curious, motivated student who enjoys working with information, machines, and people Comfortable working both independently and on project teams Eager to work in a hands-on laboratory environment What You'll Work On: Test & Investigate — Analyze printing system components, troubleshoot product quality issues, and develop test procedures in a hands-on lab environment Design Experiments — Plan and run experiments using statistical methods and data analysis to drive real improvements Automate & Optimize — Build tools and improve processes using Python, SQL, and Git Leverage AI — Apply AI tools to engineering workflows and problem-solving Collaborate — Work with suppliers, test partners, customers, and cross-functional teams to resolve field issues

Requirements

  • Student must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
  • Student should be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related major.
  • Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Student is to successfully complete all required screenings prior to hire.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Superior interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated with the ability to multi-task
  • Possesses proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or experience in statistics & mathematics (linear algebra, calculus, probability)
  • Comfortable working with electromechanical systems and lab test equipment
  • Programming skills: Python, Git, SQL
  • Strong communicator who can turn analysis into clear action plans
  • Curious, self-directed, and ready to jump into a variety of projects

Responsibilities

  • Supports the specific functional area on special projects
  • Works closely with assigned manager to learn and understand the diverse issues of the assigned function
  • Research, analyze, and offer solutions relating to a variety of functional projects
  • Assists with daily activities of assigned function
  • May perform a variety of tasks at the direction of the management team
