The Combine Engineering team supports the design, development, and validation of combine harvesters, one of the most complex and critical pieces of agricultural machinery. By working on subsystem design, testing, and manufacturing support, the team ensures combines deliver the durability, performance, and innovation farmers rely on. Prior experience with large agricultural equipment or design/development of agricultural machinery is desirable, along with familiarity in engineering tools such as CREO, FMEA, QFD, DOE, Robust Design, FEA, and other structured methodologies. As a Product Engineering Intern, you will gain hands-on experience supporting combine product development through design, testing, and manufacturing activities, while working alongside experienced engineers to solve real-world challenges.

  • Preparing and completing designs, layouts, and drawings for assigned elements of products under development or improvement, consistent with project plans and objectives
  • Using engineering techniques and considering manufacturing processes, safety standards, and environmental regulations to create cost-effective designs
  • Performing engineering calculations to determine part sizes, strengths, and solve design challenges
  • Supporting prototype builds, drafting work orders, part requisitions, parts lists, and engineering change requests
  • Assisting with laboratory and field testing, including collecting and reporting results to validate designs
  • Resolving functional and mechanical problems on assigned subsystems
  • Traveling to plants, supplier facilities, and field test locations to troubleshoot issues, explore alternatives, and gain product knowledge
  • Learning and applying CNH engineering standards and ISO work procedures, and becoming proficient in CAD (CREO) and engineering data management systems (e.g., TC BOM)
  • Candidates must be pursuing (at minimum) a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Prior experience with large agricultural equipment or design/development of agricultural machinery
