About The Position

The Edelbrock Group is looking for a motivated and energetic individual to be a Product Engineer. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a demonstrated ability utilizing 3D CAD software. Must have a good understanding of automotive mechanical systems and electronics. Background in racing, hot rodding, vehicle or engine building preferred. The role involves designing castings, machined parts, automotive engine components & complex assemblies in CAD to meet Performance and Manufacturing requirements; managing projects from Inception to Sale.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology or equivalent experience
  • Min 2 years' experience in designing mechanical components (Automotive Industry desired)
  • Competent with a major brand of 3D CAD software (Siemens NX desired)
  • Effective analytical and conceptual skills to derive adequate solutions for technical problems
  • Excellent planning and organization, project management and time management skills
  • Strong Attention to Detail & Desire to create World Class products
  • Professionalism - Approach others in a tactful manner; React well under pressure; Treat others with respect & consideration regardless of their status/position; Accept responsibility for own actions; Follow through on commitments
  • Clean driving record required

Responsibilities

  • Design products for High Performance automotive engines; including some or all of the following - Intake manifolds, cylinder heads, water pumps, superchargers, crate engines, carburetors, EFI systems, valve train, rotating assemblies and transmission components
  • Build and maintain complex vehicle and engine level assemblies in CAD
  • Produce 2D drawings for the manufacturing shop and outside suppliers
  • Write and manage Test Plans to ensure proper testing of assigned projects
  • Collect & analyze test data and determine intelligent conclusions
  • Work collaboratively with R D, Calibration, Purchasing and Manufacturing to deliver new products on-time and on budget
  • Maintain and follow all Quality procedures related to Product Development for the assigned projects
